Hand held cb mike
J&M has stopped making there hand held mikes. Anyone know someone else who might sell them or some other mike brand that will work?

Re: Hand held cb mike
J&M stopped making these because the demand was so low for them that it became financially unviable to do it - the quantities were just too small. The had to take a huge financial hit in purchasing a large number of mics, refitting the connectors and fabricating the bracketry, harnesses and hardware, in order to make a large number of mics that would then take years to sell. So when their last manufacturing run sold out, they decided not to do another run.
I was asked to look into sourcing a microphone that could be adapted and sold to replace it, and I did spend some time looking into it. I found one (and only one!) manufacturer of a dynamic hand-held PTT microphone with the electrical characteristics that would make it compatible with the Goldwing CB, but the cost of the mic, plus the cost of adapting it to a Goldwing connector, plus the cost of bracketry and custom wiring harness, all required in order to sell it would make it so expensive that nobody would buy them. So I had to decline.
As far as I know this is now an item you are only going to find on the used market.

I'm sorry to hear that. I only need the mike part of the setup. The bike has the rest. Thanks
