Question about Traxxion fork tube modification

Post by laj48 »

I hit a deer a while back. The insurance adjuster came out to give me an estimate. The fork tubes are just a little off from being parallel. I told him I would remove them and check them on a surface plate my friend has at his machine shop. He said I have to have it checked at a shop for verification. I know Traxxion does some machining on one of the tubes. I hope someone on this forum can tell me which tube and what it done to it. If I contact Traxxion they will probably want me to send it to them. I have replaced bushings with help from Fred Harmons video he did for servicing Traxxion equipped forks.

Is the damage so severe that replacement of the fork tubes will take the estimate over the line towards totaling the bike? Hopefully not.

If the fork tubes are bent, it is best to just replace them.

I'm fairly sure the machine work is to the left lower fork leg. "case assy. left lower fork"
