2012 GL1800 Extra Fuse Block

I have a 2012 Goldwing and I recently purchased the Electronic Fuse Block from Big Bike Parts. I am having a very difficult time trying to find a place to mount this device as I am trying to keep it central on the bike to make it easier to run wires from the front and from the back for additional lighting! Has anyone else purchased one of these items and if so, where did you mount it?
Secondly, where is the best place to splice into the left and right turn signal, running light and the brake light wiring? I have pulled the seat off and found many wire bundles but as to which one is the one I am looking for, I have no idea as 2012 Goldwing wiring diagrams are non-existent.

Wiring diagrams are available for ALL Goldwings...just have to pay the price for a shop manual or DVD.

The easiest way to splice into the harness is to buy the Kuryakyn 3230 adapter. It plugs in under the seat on the right side. This way you don't have to cut any existing wires.

Thank you for the replies. I have found one location that offered a "free" download of a 2012 wiring diagram but I had to register! And as far as the harness, when I looked it up on Amazon it says it doesn't fit the 2012. I will keep researching. I was hoping someone had try to install this fuse block with more ease than I am finding it to be.

I mounted my extra fuse block in the compartment in the trunk where the CD player would go. I found it very easy to get at if there is a problem. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Willie! I may be heading that direction as I there is absolutely no other place to mount it on the bike where it doesn't impede something else. What year wing do you have and did you end up splicing into the turn signals and brake light as well? Or is yours strictly and power source?

Hi kc10fe my Goldwing is a 2001 GL1800 with just 10K miles on the clock. I bought her new at a cost of £16500.00 pounds. It's only now because my bro bought a Goldwing that I'm putting a few miles on the clock I was of the road for a few years through illness. But all ok now.
I did not splice in to the main harness i connected to the switched post of the battery through a 15amp fuse back to the 6 way extra fuse block in the trunk. I'm only using it for the ring of fire and a few extra LED lights on the front of the bike so I wanted the ex fuse block switched.
Just a wee note. Any of the Kuryakyn plug and play items I have bought ( ring of fire , lower cowel lights, LED front spot lights,brake modular etc ) do not work on my bike because it is a European model so I wired them all to the ex fuse block,safer that splicing I think Thats just my thoughts.

Thank you, Willie! That is good information and I will keep researching the best way to install this fuse block. I will probably install it in the trunk, I am just a bit puzzled on where to splice into the turn signals, brake light and running lights. This fuse block will allow me to install multiple lighted accessories that will flash or blink with the use of the turn signals and/or brake lights once it is installed.
Glad you are feeling better and riding more frequently. I currently have a 2012 with 12,000 miles on it. I purchased it used with just over 9,000 miles two years ago. I don't ride as often as I'd like, but it is nice to get out when I can. I will keep you updated on what I figure out.

Just a quick one kc10fe. Your turn signal and brake light wiring are all in your trunk lid.There is a Kuryakyn plug and play which you may be able to use , as I said because my Wing is a European model I had to make my own connections to fit my spoiler brake and turn signals. There is a lot of room in there to work with. Good luck.

When I put lighting on my bike several years ago I wound up putting the fuse block on the side of the battery with industrial velcro. Never had an issue with it.The fuse block is relayed on one side and the other is live all the time. For my lighting rather than cut into wires or a harness I bought factory connectors from Eastern Beaver and Cyclemax and made my own harnesses to hook in between. This way if theres an issue I can unplug them and go back to stock. Im not a big believer in poking or splicing into harnesses.

I believe I saw an earlier post on Goldwing Docs from you while researching this project. Unfortunately, this fuse block is a little larger in size and finding a spot to make it work is proving more difficult that I would like so I may just end up mounting it in the trunk. The whole reason for getting this fuse block was to be able to add more lights without doing alot of splicing. Unfortunately, this block requires a tap into the left and right turn signal, running lights as well as the brake light. Thank you for the advice and I will check out the connectors you mentioned from Eastern Beaver and Cyclemax.
