fuel guage

Post by oilboy1162 »

ok . i committed the cardinal sin of watching my guage AND fuel light the other night. bike died on the highway about 1 mile from my exit. guage showed 1/4 full but i didnt notice until i called rescue plus that i had 270+ miles on the tank . so my question is: obviously theres something wrong with the sender at the tank. did a run the next day and saw 130 miles traveled with only 1/4 tank gone . someone out here must have a test for me to perform onsome part of the sender unit and where. all help appriciated.

 I know people say we spend too much money on our rides, but I can't hear them when I'm 1000 miles away!

In the Service Manual there is a section to help you out. It is called Lights/Meters/Switches. There is a section specifically for the FUEL GAUGE/LOW FUEL INDICATOR. It is section 20 in my book but I have a 2003. It appears that you have a 2013. Your book will undoubtedly be different but the trouble shooting procedure is there.
