Rear turn signals stay on

Hello everyone, my first visit to the forum. Looking for some help diagnosing a problem with my rear turn signal lights. I am the second owner of a 2003 GL1800. All turn signals function properly with the handlebar switch. When the turn signals are cancelled, the lights on the rear turn signals stay on. I replaced the bulbs in hopes of curing the problem but no luck, same results. Looking on the forum it sounds like there might be a faulty ground somewhere, but I'm not sure where to start. Thanks in advance and let me know if I need to add any pictures.
