Intercom not working

Post by poppajim »

Hello every body! I have a 2007 GL1800 and just recently my intercom has started to act up. Some times it works and other times nothing. When it does not work I can not speak on the CB either. I can hear the others in my headset but can not put out with the mike.Any ideas?

If you are convinced it is the audio unit you might check with Larry at: http://www.wingconnect.com/

I think he responds to emails before phone calls. He repairs some of the units.

I'm sure others will offer simpler solutions with adjustments to the controls. They may work.

Thanks
I really don't know if its in the audio, I welcome other ideas. My cord fell off my helmet a couple weeks ago, I plugged it back in and thats when it started happening. I bought a new lower cord but still does it. It could work for a minute then shuts down. I lead a lot of rides with our club and it sucks that it is giving me problems

Check all cable ends and see if you are missing a pin. My wife has had two cables that had a pin break off where it plugged into the helmet. It is a real pain to get the broken off pin out of the helmet plug.

I had the same issue with my J&M headset, I found a broken wire inside the helmet, the wire going from the plug to the mike. If you have another helmet and you know it's working, plug it in to the system before you taking apart the motorcycle audio.
