Turn signal flasher

Post by fun42 »

I have a 2005 bike and I'm putting in led turning lights. I'm replacing the flasher but when I got to it under the front dash. There is no flasher.
Is that where it is?

The flasher is forward of the instrument panel under the windshield.

Right side over near but below the speaker . I have seen it installed without taking anything loose. A guy with a skinny arm and knows the right spot can do it.

On an 02 there is a three wire plug that seems to plug vertically into a jack behind the instrument cluster. You won't see a round cylinder module like used in most cars, but you can replace the stock flasher circuit with an automotive electronic flasher module using three jumper wires and a zip-tie or two and plugging them into the wire end of the connection. You'll need a 3 wire male connector that we commonly use for power connections within the wing's accessories. The picture below illustrates my solution with the wires marked. I zip-tied it to a wire bundle to keep it from vibrating. Some electronic flasher modules have a timing adjustment, but mine was fine straight from the package.
