Don't know what state you live in. Check with the DMV and make sure that you can legally do that. May be a law that you cannot modify the color of the lights from stock. There was an aftermarket supplier that had a kit to illuminate the clear lens with a red LED. When the turn signal was in use the red light would go out and the amber turn signal would come on. I think it may have been from Electrical connection. Doesn't appear on their site anymore.

thanks
i know that US allows red or amber turn signals in rear
front must be amber/white in front
some states or counties and cities try to push that, but i so far, as it is stated, municipalities cant over ride federal law.
if you check dmv as you stated, dot, and others, they'll state it. amber/red/white is ok for rear, white/amber for front...
truckers like the amber in rear and front as turn signals, regardless of that, as long as red is legal for rear i like that...
its the clear part that i dont like lol...i had clear lenses in my vtx and quickly changed them out to red when i was able to...
thanks...
