Zumo 590 Audio Output To AUX Input - GL1800 2007

I wonder if anybody ever connected the Zumo, via Garmin provided motorcycle cradle/wire harness, to the GL 1800 AUX Audio input located under the left glove compartment. It does not work for me.

As a troubleshooting steps: 1- My Iphone 6 works fine with the GL 1800 AUX audio input.
2- I plugged in the Zumo AUDIO OUT to an IMC wired headset via Garmin/IMC OEM wire harness: nothing.

To me this is pointing to a Zumo audio output defect since I know my headset is working fine and the AUX / Iphone interface is working fine.

However I want to make sure there is no impedance matching trick that is not explained in the installation instructions.

Do you have the Zumo set to audio warnings on? A method of testing the Zumo would be to use a set of earbuds with the RCA jack. If they work, the Zumo sound out is working, if not perhaps a malfunction.

You'd be better off using a GPS Audio Input. That way you can hear the GPS over the intercom, and still listen to the music and CB on the bike. It has a built-in ground loop isolator and matches impedences correctly.

I tried your suggestion (ie. earbuds) : no audio. Called Garmin tech support, got an RMA and shipped Zumo back.
