Hi,
I had contact this morning from a guy in Australia asking me to send him the firmware for his 2013 Goldwing. He said the previous link I'd posted had expired.
So...... I created a new Public Folder in Dropbox for the Sysbin2.8 firmware and here is a link to it.
You don't need Dropbox on your pc, the link should work for everyone.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/bn8ajyg3h3qkc ... in2.8?dl=0
Please only install this if you know what you're doing. I accept no liability for any problems you may have if you use this file.
I've used it in all my GL18's since 2013 when it was first made available and I found it to be better than any other firmware including the later 2.9 version.
I loaded it to my 2012, '14, and our '16 bike.

Re: 2.8 Firmware for 2012-2017 Navi System
FYI latest firmware is 2.9 . Anyone doing the firmware update make sure you have the one for your wing'
2006 - 2008 USA with CF card latest FW 4.9
Canadian bikes 2006 - ??? that use the CF card use the same FW 4.9
2009 - 2010 USA use FW 2.9 size about 6.0 mb
2012- 2017 USA use FW 2.9 size about 26.0 mb
Sorry I don't know when the Canadian bikes switched to the newer Navs .
I believe that the 2012 and up are the same as the USA bikes .
But as stated in OP use caution if you are not sure what you are doing.

2012 to 2017, as posted above in Jinx's post.
Some people, when updating mapping or firmware have bent pins in there NAVI unit, and this is not a simple repair. One would need to find the pinned connector and replace it. Bent pins break when straightening is attempted.
Thanks Jinx

Re: 2.8 Firmware for 2012-2017 Navi System
Sorry for any confusion I may have caused.
My original post refers to the Navi unit in the 2012-2017 bikes not he earlier models.;
The 2012+ bikes use a SD card so there is no chance of anyone bending any pins like there is on the older units which use a CF card.
The 2.9 firmware is the latest edition BUT I found it didn't work as well as the 2.8 firmware.
When I tried the 2.9 firmware I found issues when the unit recalculated when using a Custom Route, a problem that was present in the fist edition of firmware and which was rectified in the 2.8 firmware.
