RADIO ANTENNA

Post by POPPY'S WING »

Hello again. My GL1800 antenna is one of those short rubber ducky ones. I'm gonna put the oem one on. Do the OEM ones fold down? Thanks.

yes they do, all of the OEM antennas I have ever seen fold down.

I get a couple of those yellow tennis balls that are hollow, and use a razor knife to cut a split half way around the ball.

then I place the ball over the antenna where it folds, and that protects the cover for the bike.

Yes, the OEM ones have a metal collar at the bottom of the antenna (where it mounts to the top case), You pull the collar upwards (you might have to unscrew it first, its been a long time since I needed to lower my antenna) and the antenna will then fold forwards or backwards.
