2009 questions.

Post by Roweville »

Hello! Looking for any insight on the 2009 goldwings. I am looking into buying one with about 40 thousand miles on it for about $10 thousand. Anything i should be looking for specifically? Problems to expect? Thanks for any information you can provide.

Make sure the brake recall has been done and check maintenance records against the recommendations in the owners manual. Some are ridiculous, it doesn't need an air filter every 12,000 miles or spark plugs every 16,000. I go about 50,000 on both.

If the recalls have not been done and maintenance is not well documented that is not a deal breaker, it could be used as a negotiating device.
It's not what you buy, it's what you build.

That sounds like a fair price for an 09. But as others have said, check it out to see if the recall has been completed and for maintenance. Look at the clutch and brake fluids thru the sight glass and you can tell if they have been changed, if the breake recall has not been completed you can have that done once you buy the bike.

It's easy to see if the recall has been done. Just look for the punch marks on the frame above the rear brake fluid reservoir.
