Garman 595LM Cradle: How Did You Install?
Hi, I have a 2004 Goldwing in which I'm going to install a the Garmin 595LM cradle on the left side handle bar. I would like to know if anyone here has done this installation? As you know, it's quite a harness with all the wiring. Basically, all I need to know is how you ran the cable down the handle bar leading to the underside of the left fairing pocket? Did it fit along the oem cables running within the handle bar cover? Any tips would be most appreciated. Thanks, Ray

Ray, do you know if the USB cable is for charging another device, since the GPS is wired to the bike? Can't find any info about the out put voltage.

I'm not positive if it will charge another device or not. I would assume that it would. I haven't installed mine yet..... hopefully it will.

The output voltage is always going to be 5 volts, because that is a USB standard. What is in question is the output current.
For that, you need a device like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Eversame-Multime ... ref=sr_1_3
Plug this meter into the USB outlet, plug the GPS into the meter. It will show just how much current is flowing out of the USB outlet. Standard for charging is 1.0 amps, although you can see up to 2 amps on some USB outlets.
