shelter cover removal

Post by gatorslayer » Mon Apr 30, 2018 4:01 pm

First post, new owner of 2016 GL 1800, non airbag. The manual notes that in place of the airbag is the "Shelter Cover" just forward of the fuel lid. I can't determine if this is easily removable, and I don't want to break anything. Thinking it could be a discreet hiding hole if I can pop it off and back on, but I can't find anything online about this.

This is identified as the shelter cover in the manual:

I am assuming that you know there is storage in there. There should be a keyhole on the right side of the fairing. Insert key and turn to the right to unlock this pocket.
