I would like to add satellite radio to my bike
Can I use the kit that they use for the cars and would it be a difficult job???

Appreciate the help.

I hope each and every one of you has a fantastic day.

I bet your bike is already set up for it and all you have to do is call Sirius/XM and activate it.

That info is in the owners manual.

Canadian models of the GL1800 have a Weather Radio as opposed to an XM radio. Perhaps other country models also. USA models have the XM radio. This is so for units from 2001 to 2010, and perhaps beyond, but I am not certain of that.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

You'll have to provide power to your receiver, pipe the sound through the audio cord in the LF pocket, and hook in one of their antennas. Various audio makers used to supply kits to do all that, but I can't find any who still do. So you'll have to make up your kit. To start, you'll have to decide how you want it mounted. Some will stuff everything in the LF pocket, others will mount it to the outside of the LF pocket door, but most will get a bracket and mount the receiver to a handle bar. If you choose to do that, you will need a bracket like the one below.

Here's an audio cord that will be long enough to plug-in below the pocket and route it up to 6' away.

What is left is an antenna ... google your receiver model for that. And last is getting power to the unit. Most will plug into their power port for that. If you don't have a power port, the best one out there is a Hondaline one. Here is the part number SOCKET SET, D.C 08U55-MCA-101
