Uneven Idle
I've recently observed that my idle speed is fluctuating between 750 to 1000 rpm at any given time. Is such variability normal? If not what might at the root of this issue?

Re: Uneven Idle
You can try to reset the ECM. Start bike cold and let it idle until the fans come on. DO NOT touch the throttle. It may take a while for the fans to turn on, then shut it down. See how it idles after the reset.
Also, the idle will change if you are pulling on the clutch, this is normal.

IF,
my hand is still on the throttle grip, I have noticed that a slight bit, ever so slight, of "throttle applied" will cause a "hunting effect" or an idle surge.
Removing my hand off the grip stops that.
Might you be having something like that going on

Re: Uneven Idle
I have a 2010 airbag GW which did this idle fluctuation from new when purchased in 2011. I reset the ECM as described above and it did improve but now and again it still does it but more so in the summer when the air temp is higher or when stuck in traffic.
