Advice please
Hi Guys, I have the chance to buy a 2001 1800 with 97,000 miles on the clock and he wants over £5,000 for it, is this worth the money or is it something I should steer clear of with that sort of mileage?

Re: Advice please
That would be about $6600 US, a little high for here. Don't know how the market is there.

Can the seller show you receipts for maintenance, etc? I might consider it if it's been well cared for. If not, then that seems a little high.

Re: Advice please
The mileage is not a serious concern for a GL1800. Test riding would be a mandatory thing tho. If it runs well, and rides well, with no appreciable problems, then the price is whatever you are willing to pay for it. The used bike market is totally subjective. If you do not wish to pay that much, then offer less, or look elsewhere.

Re: Advice please
I think its a bit high. No matter how hard you look, they always end up need something and before you know it you've spent $1,000 (775 pounds) or so for routine stuff.
If you can knock off a thousand pounds that would be a good deal for you. As said, mileage is no concern, proper maintenance is.

Re: Advice please
There were several recalls on the 01 wing. Frame cracks and over heating to name a few. Take the VIN to a dealer and see if all the recalls and service bulletins were completed.
