2012 gl1800 nav,abs,xm radio CB

Post by bmarcia115 »

Ok just got a new to me gl1800 with a HTS1800 conversion only 14,000 miles after 400 mile ride home with it :) I can not for the life of me figure out how to use the cb. I only see the cb button with the sign for speaker or helmet.
1. Does this work as the on off ?
2. is there maybe a separate fuse I am missing ?
Weather radio works fine am fm all work fine helmet or speakers all good.
The manual says to look in the accessory manual but cant find that.
thank you for any help.

Bob

CB is a HondaLine accessory. Has it been added to your Wing ??? Here are various ways to tell.

- does it have a CB antenna on the left side of the trunk
- if you push in on the CB button, you should see an icon on the left side of your display screen
- in the trunk, at the bottom, probably under the carpet, is a compartment. Remove the compartment door. Once the door is off, the "under trunk compartment" has 2 levels. The upper which is about the size of the compartment door, and a lower compartment about 1/3 smaller. The CB fits in the lower smaller one. When installing a CB, a cover is included in the kit to separate the 2 lower compartments.

You can add it tho, if you can locate one. It is not a really tough install. Then everything will work.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

If it doesn't have an antenna on the left side of the trunk (sitting in the seat looking forward) it doesn't have a CB

I you don't have one, you can get still order in a new CB from Honda for about $600-$700, and the antenna is about $130. There's also an aftermarket CB available that is loaded with various issues for less money. Unfortunately the CB option is expensive, and the best one available is OEM. Be sure to get the OEM (Hondaline) antenna too.
