I seem to have an intermittent issue, and I'm not sure where to start looking. I am hearing some type of interference noise through my headset, when I'm listening to the radio, MP3 player, and/or Intercom. The noise isn't deafening, but I can hear it, sometimes. Other times I don't. I heard it on my way to work this morning, and when I got to work and hit the brakes with my lights facing the building, I noticed my headlights dimmed when I pushed the brake pedal. I figured I'd pay more attention on my way home to track it down, but no noise on my way home.

I'm figuring a bad ground somewhere. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Any ideas where to look?

If there is a bad ground it is probably the main ground point on the frame under the gas tank.

Hi Dave. Long time... I was really hoping you weren't going to say that. I had the tank out once before, what a pita. Am I mis-diagnosing here? Is there something else I should be looking at? The problem comes and goes.

You should also check the ground for the rear lighting. It’s a solid green wire in the gray 14 pin connector under the seat near the trunk wall. There’s also a 12pin under there, the 14 pin can be the culprit. This is a common issue with the 1800.
