while riding Saturday my buddy pulled me over because my headlights went out. Sure enough they just went/out. I shut the bike off and tried to trouble shoot with the key in the start position but not acctually starting the bike, the high/low switch didn't affect it affct them they stayed out. The highbeam indicator didn't work either.
After restarting the bike the lights came back on, stayed on and the dimmer switch works and the highbeam indicator works.
Any thoughts/concerns/
Thanks

Probably the start switch sticking. There is a second switch in the start switch that turns the headlights off when starting. Get some plastic safe contact cleaner and spray generously in around the start button.

+1 on the contact cleaner. I had this same thing happen on my "wing right after I got it. It had been sitting for a year. Used contact cleaner with lubricant from Radio Shack, has never reoccurred.
