How to replace front position light bulbs in a 2002 GL1800

Post by jmrosinha » Wed Sep 12, 2018 5:26 pm

Hello from Portugal
I begin by apologizing for my English.
My name is Miguel Rosinha, I am Portuguese and I live in Almeirim, 70km from Lisbon.
I recently purchased a GL1800 from 2002 and want to replace the front light bulbs to led bulbs.
Can you help me with a video or photos, how do you do it?
Thank you
MR

Best regards
Miguel Rosinha

I didn't realize the European models had those light activated. But to change the lamps, there is a screw on the bottom of the mirror housing, remove the screw, remove the mirror and the lamp holder is behind it. Good luck and keep us informed of your progress.

Thanks for the quick response.
The lamp I want to change is marked with a blue circle in the image.
Thank you
MR

Miguel, the USA models don't have that lamp. But I'll give it a try, look down through the forks from the seated position. Based on your picture, you should be able to see the wire coming out of the bottom of the headlamp assembly. You should be able to reach it either from the top or bottom and the lamp holder should twist and then pull out.
