GL1800 2009 Electrical Problem

Hi everybody, I have electrical problem of Goldwing 1800 2009 (air bag). The navigation screen still have power but it is in blank (or white screen). I have searched the electrical wiring diagram but could not. Please help me by showing the diagram or any consult about this problem.

Check if the meter panel cable is connected. Pull the switch cover off (it's a finger nail pry off), then pull up on the bottom of the meter panel to release two tabs, then release the 4 tabs around the speakers. The meter panel cable is under the panel. If that panel was ever removed and the connector not properly seated it could have come loose.

That is not uncommon, and the white screen is good tell tail. Loose plug sounds like a strong possibility.

SAME PROBLEM IN MY 2006 and till now i donot know how to solve it .

Unlike most digital screens used today, the signal sent to the screen from the bike's computer isn't in digital format, it's actually an analog video signal, that is reconstituted into an image by the screen panel circuitry. If the connection between the computer and screen gets disconnected, you get a blank screen. That's where I would start concentrating my efforts.

He's talking about the nav screen, not the meter panel.

I hope it is only a connection problem. Also suggest you check and reload/reset the software unit in the trunk. The bad news may be that the screen unit has failed, and needs to be fixed with a new one. My 2010 airbag model screen failed at about 60,000 miles. Initially having been caused by my attempting to load a long continental trip below an overhead shelter which possibly caused overheating or overloading of the hardware. The sound still worked but after much investigation I bit the bullet and purchased a replacement LCD Display unit from Cycle-parts.com, 2120 E Pythian Ave, Decatur, Ill 62526. Part no 37230-MCA-H31 LCD ASSY COLOR. their price was $1382.11 [Phew] plus I paid customs duties etc into the UK.
They gave me excellent service and recommend them accordingly. But hope you do not have to resort to this option. If you do resort to this option you would be wise to ask a main dealer if they would be willing to test your unit by fitting a known working (customer's) LCD before ordering the new unit.
