Fog lights not working
2010 GL 1800. The fog lights were working just fine, then a couple days ago I tried them and they wouldn't come on. I don't see any fuse that covers that. The switch feels normal.
Is there a relay or something else I should be checking?
Thanks for any help.

Re: Fog lights not working
Are these Honda and do you have the high beams on? If they’re Honda’s setup, the high beams cut them off. They are powered by the tail light relay and fuse. So if your tail lights are working, it’s probably not a power problem.

Tail lights are working. High beams are NOT on.
I think they are Honda, but I don't know for sure. Just got the bike in May of this year. and they were on it when I got it. There is cowling around them, if that helps.
Next idea?

If I'm not mistaken kuriakyn lights comes with a relay and a switch. The switch is mounted where the four way flasher button is.
The relay it's behind the shelter left side .

Have you checked the switch on the left side where the 4 way flasher is. If I'm not mistaken kuryakyn lights comes with a inline relay with the switch.

Re: Fog lights not working
If they are Honda, there will be a cutout relay in line between the switch and the lights. This relay energizes when the high beams are on and is de-energized when they are off. It’s normally closed contacts are used to send power to the lights in this de-energized state. If this relay exists and is bad, then you can put a jumper from the brown/blue wire to the red wire and they should light.

Re: Fog lights not working
According to the Honda ETM there is no relay. I installed show chrome fog lights in my 08 and they had a relay, can't say on my '10, they were on it when I bought it.Techdude2000 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 31, 2018 8:00 pm

Re: Fog lights not working
Yep, the ETM doesn’t show one due to there not being one from the factory installed on the bike. That schematic has been like that since the 01s. The cutout relay is part of the Hondaline foglight kit.DaveO430 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 01, 2018 6:04 amAccording to the Honda ETM there is no relay. Re: Fog lights not working
I don't think the ETM covers complete wiring for Hondaline accessories. The relay for them comes in Honda's fog lamp kit and gets installed with the switch. The small relay harness plugs into the small switch harness and both sit under the left front pocket.
Looks like Rob types quicker.

Re: Fog lights not working
First thing I would do is put a multimeter on the switch. Strip one down and you may think, damn, that is flagship Honda quality design and production right there. I would not.
If at first you don't succeed, hide the evidence.
