Auxiliary Lights Wired to Highbeams
That's half of it. I have the lights and the switch with a relay. Here's what I want to do. Lights will be switched on/off with its own switch at handlebar at anytime with the ignition on. When using them with the high beams on and turning the high beams off with the high/low beam switch, I want the auxiliary lights to go off. Then at anytime I can switch the auxiliary lights back on with its own switch at the handlebar.
How do I go about and wire this setup, if possible ?

Re: Auxiliary Lights Wired to Highbeams
Use a relay with a normally closed contact, wire a switched, fused + source to terminal 30, your handlebar switch from a + source to T85, the blue high beam wire to T86 (handy source under the left pocket at the fog light switch connector) T87 to the lights.

Re: Auxiliary Lights Wired to Highbeams
Would that be using a 5 pin relay but using 87a instead of the 87 pin on a NC relay ?

Thank you, I will definitely test as I go with this. Thank you.

Re: Auxiliary Lights Wired to Highbeams
An alternative would be to use a NO relay (T87) and put a diode in the blue wire from the high beams, your switch wire to the same terminal on the relay (85) and ground 86. Then you could go direct to B+ for T30.

Thank you DaveO but can you draw me a schematic of both ideas ? Thank you. You can even PM me.

Re: Auxiliary Lights Wired to Highbeams
Another way to put what I'm trying to do is.
HB on - SW on - Lights on
HB off - SW on - lights off
HB off - SW on - lights on
HB off - SW off - lights off
I want high beams on, lights on, switch on. Then high beams off, lights off, switch still on. Then high beams off, switch on, lights on.
Possibly done through a 5 pin relay with or without a diode ?

Re: Auxiliary Lights Wired to Highbeams
Ok, Thank you, is there a specific size of diode that will work better than the other? I have looked at a Schottky diode or is there something better for this setup.

Re: Auxiliary Lights Wired to Highbeams
I'm basically trying to have the high beams on, then turn lights on, then the lights would go off when the high beams are switch off. And at anytime the lights can be turned on.

Re: Auxiliary Lights Wired to Highbeams
With the diode setup, when I shut the high beams off will the auxiliary lights go out ?

Re: Auxiliary Lights Wired to Highbeams
I think I did what you are trying to do --
The 'fog lamps go OFF when the High beams are on -
The AUX light under my mirrors go ON with the HIGH Beams
Pick up energy from the BLUE wire near the FOG ON switch and use that to flip your relay -
Then your lower lights will switch off when the AUX lights go on...
