Finally upgrading from a 94 1500 to an 08 1800. A few years ago I upgraded my 1500 headlights to HID which was money well spent. I'm considering an LED upgrade on the 1800; that said, two popular choices are SoCal Moto Gear Pathfinders and Electrical Connection. My HID's are SoCal, and I've been happy with them, I also have several EC products which I've been happy with as well.
Both LED options are 4000 lumens and 6000K color, pricing is less that $20 difference. I'm looking for opinions from those running SoCal LED and those that have Electrical Connection LED's.

I prefer 4000 to 4500 Kelvin
more than that, they go blue...
I want "Daylight White"
and I will go with the 1st link Scott posted using the EC LEDs

As it turned out, I have Pathfinders in the low beams and EC in the high beams and cannot tell any difference. I installed the lows in mid August and EC installed the highs when I was at WingDing in Knoxville. If you can find a location where EC is doing installations, they will put in the lows for $10 and the highs for $30. Well worth it especially for the highs.

I agree. From what I've seen on the YouTube videos, changing headlight bulbs on the 1800 is much harder than the 1500.jackjohn wrote: ↑Mon Nov 05, 2018 10:51 am As it turned out, I have Pathfinders in the low beams and EC in the high beams and cannot tell any difference. Re: 1800 LED Headlights; SoCal vs. EC
Thanks, there's some really good information in those posts. I'm leaning towards the Pathfinders because of the larger heat sinks and longer wires, which is a plus when mounting the drivers. The HID's on my 1500 are SoCal and I was able to stick the ballasts inside the vs. crowding them in behind the headlight bucket.WingAdmin wrote: ↑Sun Nov 04, 2018 10:59 pm Have a read through these:

As always, thanks for what you do for Goldwing owners. It was good meeting you in Parkersburg and picking your brain about my bike.

Re: 1800 LED Headlights; SoCal vs. EC
I'm running the EC LED's and have been very happy with their performance... I installed them on low beams only, as I use a modulator on my high beams and didn't want to have to replace that as well, otherwise I would have switched high beams too... They REALLY light up the road in front of you - much easier to see although I must confess I don't do a lot of night riding due to all the "critters" where I live that have a propensity to jump out in front of you at night...
