Reverse

Post by m2102 »

I went and changed my air filter at my nephews big shed, all went better than I thought it would, and when I went to back it into a different shed it wouldn’t back over a 1” lip at the front of door. Can’t say I’ve had trouble before except occasionally not going in reverse. Could it be as simple as cable adjustment?
TIA

'02 GL1800 lives in Dawsonville, GA now.
My son is going to enjoy it for many years to come.

probably normal.

I have a 2x8 transom at my shop door, and my '02 will not go over it if stopped, and then try.

I have to roll forwards a bit, get some momentum, and have the idle up a tad, and then it will go over. I usually have to push a tad bit with my feet backing up over that 2x8

Does it just not have enough power or does it make a ratcheting sound? If not enough power could be the battery, if it makes a ratchet sound the cables need adjusted.

No chattering noise just no power. Battery had a tender on it for about 2weeks, forgot it was on. Battery is less than 2yearsold but that really doesn’t make a difference. Battery can be bad out of the box.
