Suspension "upgrade"?

Post by tbdomenz »

recent purchase = 2005 wing / 80k miles seems soft and bouncy so suspension upgrade seems like a next thing to do .
we together are approx 450 lb with riding gear and then there's luggage, so maybe lookin at a 550lb payload.
What upgrades - modifications have you made? results? cost? recommendations?

There is so much info on this subject but with an 05 and 80k miles. Besides replacing the springs in the forks for progressives or the like but also a fork rebuilt and oil change.
It's not what you buy, it's what you build.

The suspension was weak when it came out of the factory.Whatever you decide go with the heaviest spring(I think the Progressive is 1200 lb.).I just went with the stock spring with a brand new 2013 rear shock/spring ass. and now wish I had gone with the heavier.I think the stock 2013 spring was either 1000 or 1100 lb and is really not enough.I'm about 210 and the wife is about 115.I just went with Progressive frt springs due to budget restraints but it was way better than the bagged out stock set-up.
If I'da known it would last this long,I'da taken better care of it.

Just upgraded my 06 to Traxxion dynamics rear shock and spring. My old set up sagged a touch over three inches just taking it off the center stand now it is a smidgen under two. No more saggy feeling. :D You may want to talk to Traxxion and see what they suggest for your style of riding.
