I'm revisiting this topic only after searching/reading whats already been addressed and my problem continues. The right side vent works as it should. The left side vent cover does not close completely, maybe closing 65% to 75%. The cable adjustment is now bottomed out, no adjustment left. Adjustment didn't seem to make any difference. The left vent cover opens as it should, but just won't close all the way.
If this requires a replacement cable, how do you connect it to the vent cover? It is really a tight space to work. Or am I missing something?
Thanks in advance for any help and insight you may have.

Is your Wing equipped with aftermarket chrome front exhaust shields or are they OEM ones ??? Got a picture of them ??? Have you verified that the cable is attached correctly on top ???

Re: Left foot warmer vent cover not closing
There is no aftermarket belly pan. If the belly pan reference is to the bottom side panels (metal panels) I have yet to determine how they are removed. Need to do some more research on that procedure.
The cable is connected and operating correctly at the slide control on top. The exhaust shields are OEM.
Seems to me, since the right side is operating as it should, open and closing fully, and the left only closes about 1/2 way, the problem may be in the left side cable after the point where the 3 cables are connected together. I have been unable to open that connection point. The rubber boots slid off both ends of the tube but I can't get the tube open. I thought maybe the left cable was out of position inside the connection tube.
Any tips on how to open that tube without breaking it ???
I'm very good at breaking things and making more work for myself!
Thanks guys, I'll keep plugging away at it.

Yep thats what I meant....You definitely need to invest in a service manual.knotjohnson wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 11:43 am There is no aftermarket belly pan. The cables are reasonably priced at Bikebandit.

Asphaltmaniac, you are right about getting the service manual! The more I do on this bike the more I realize just how much I need the "Honda" manual.
Thanks
Thanks

My cable housing came loose from the clip under the pocket and housing was moving instead of cable

Re: Left foot warmer vent cover not closing
Because the right side works properly and the left only closes about 1/2 way I think the problem is where the 3 cables come together. So today I ordered a new cable and a Honda service manual too. That should make installing the cable a bit easier.
Thanks to all for the help and suggestions. I'll update after the new cable is installed.

Money well spent....There are illustrated pages in section 1. I use them to ensure that everything goes back exactly as the factory intended.knotjohnson wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 12:15 pm Asphaltmaniac, you are right about getting the service manual!
