Engine Swap
I have 2002 GL1800. Starting to get the dreaded ghost shifting in 5th gear. Bike has 106,000 miles. Considering an engine swap to a low mileage one. Question, will any year 1800 engine fit in my 2002? Will an engine from an F6B fit?

Any year up to 2017 should work fine. The F6B would as well but I think you would lose reverse. It's the same with the 1500's. A Valkyrie engine works but no reverse

Be careful ... the used engine market is littered with transmission problems.
