Re: Turn signals stop after 10 seconds
Completely normal. At hiway speeds they will cancel after about 10 or 11 flashes, so about 10 seconds. Below about 40, they will stay on until they sense a significant lean in a corner or turn.

Re: Turn signals stop after 10 seconds
very aggravating,
turn on the Right Turn and it turns off before I even arrive at the intersection.
Bad Idea IMO.....
make it 30 seconds at least, but we can't do that.
My truck will start beeping at me if I don't cancel the turn signal after about 2 minutes.
IMO that is all that is needed.

Page 40 in the owners manual. To me it stays on too long in some instances, like a lane change. If a signal is on too long people just think you forgot to turn it off.Henry34653 wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2019 3:37 am Thanks for the info.. Could not find any reference to it in the manual.

I've gotten into the habit to turn on the signal and I keep "refreshing" the lever input until I reach the intersection if I was making a turn. I also got into the habit to hit the "cancel" if making a lane change to make sure it doesn't stay on any longer than necessary.

Re: Turn signals stop after 10 seconds
I remember reading once that if you hold the switch for a couple seconds it extends the duration or even cancels the auto-off function but you know, I've never tested this. I just got in the habit of holding the switch in the on position until committed to the turn and pushing the manual cancel as soon as I'm thru. Just a habit not really based on any fact.
I used to activate the turn signals early and be a considerate operator. But the zombies I'm sharing the road with lately have gotten so bad. As soon as the turns come on, I get passed from behind, on either side, at full speed, usually taking a swath of my lane. Now I wait. Still will activate the turns before I start to slow but I 'll take the center of my lane and never encourage them. BTW, I follow UPS rules - don't turn left unless you absolutely have to. I'll plan turns ahead and even go by a turn and turn right and double back if there is anyone in range behind me and/or traffic approaching. And I have extra turn signals front and rear including sequential lights. Trust no one.
