After using reverse, motorcycle wont start
After using reverse, motorcycle wont start
Recently after backing my 2012 Goldwing into a garage at work, using it for no more than 30 seconds, I head off to work. Upon returning after work the bike turns over just fine, but wont start. The first time I had it wreckered to a dealer. It was on a Sunday so they were not open. After getting it safwly in place and the wrecker guy picking up all his straps and stuff he made comment about "wouldn't be a bummer if you turned the key and it started". So just to satisfy myself that I indeed needed the tow job, I turn the key, hit the start button and away it went like nothing had happened. 2 days later the exact same thing happened after work. I called for another haul to the dealer, but had a weird idea to try and just move it forward a short distanc of a foot or 2, bingo it fired right up. HAs anyone else had this happen? It appears that there is something in the reverse circuitry that isn't quite right.

It could be in the key switch or in the kill switch.
It's not what you buy, it's what you build.

Next Time that happens remove the cable from the spark plug and put a screwdriver in it and get close
To the bike ground " bike frame" see if you get a spark. If you don't then could be the coil or the feed to the coil.
If turns over but won't start it's either gas not getting there or no spark.

The first thing to do is to have the battery tested. Also, make sure the posts and cables are clean and tight.

It’s not the starter button switch or the kill switch, if they are bad the engine wouldn’t crank at all.

Are you sure you are taking the bike back out of Rev and seeing the neutral light come on. You should also feel the bike when this happens because it is coming out of that rev gear. I always feel a click or clunk when I do it. But there was one time, I shut the bike off before taking it out of Rev. That isn't good.
It ain't the destination but the getting there. You are not lost until you run out of gas.
