2006 Goldwing

Post by Cfdchief »

I have just upgraded from a 84 to a 2006. What a sweet ride. Anyway, I can not set the clock or do anything with the trip mileage. Whenever I push anything of those 4 buttons nothing happens. How can I tell what may be wrong. I think it goes like. SETUP. INFO. TRIP DIM. It doesn't appear any of them work!!!!!

Second question is, is there a way to tell what gear it is in. The only thing I see is. Neutral, OD and reverse. it does light up an S when kickstand is down

Thank you for you assistance

Chief

5th gen Wings only come with a 'N' and OD. It sounds like your indicators are working. As for your information display control buttons. There is a connector on the underside of the meter panel. Verify that it is connected. It in the red circle, on the under side, in front of the ignition switch.

As far as gear indicator goes
Seat of the pants, but @ 2000 rpm the speedo shows gear...
2000 in 3rd = 30
In 4th = 40 etc. etc.

for around 40 usd you can buy a gear-indicator on ebay.
it is easy to install (plug is under your seat) and clearly to read, mine is behind to left speaker cover
