Ecu for 2001 gl 1800

Post by Jun »

Is there a way to get an ecu for my bike without floating a loan? One Honda dealership wanted $953. Another wanted $732.

To find a used one, look at online auctions like Ebay, Offer-Up and Craig's List to name a few. Or search out motorcycle dismantlers.

For new - go to Partzilla.com or Ronayers.com.

I'd recommend that you purchase new. There are stories out there where a used one seemed like a great choice. Here are a couple of reasons not to buy used:

- unless the ECM was recently replaced, all 2001-03 ECMs are failing. In short, they are failing because "their DNA" says that their end is near, or it's already over
- some owners' will purchase a new ECM, and sell their old one to help off-set the cost of their new one

Basically ... buyer beware !!! ECMs are like a light bulb. They only live so long.
