Overdrive jumping when shifting (not all the time)

Post by edr421 »

My 2001 GL1800 triked with a dft conversion. Every once in a while I will shift into OD and it will seem to engage, and take off ok, then a few seconds later it will click as if the original shift did not completely engage. Is this a warning of something to come, or is it normal. Also is it the goldwing or in the DFT conversion?
any help would be appreciated.

Ed

Sorry Ed, but it does not sound like "something to come." Your issue is present, speaking to you loud and clear, and now has your attention. It sounds like you are describing a major transmission issue. Here is another thread about 5 down from yours. I think there are 3 Wings in there that have transmission problems too.
