First time changing oil on my Wing

Post by C-dub »

This was me changing my oil & oil filter for the first time today. Overall, it went without a hitch or any major issues. Drain bolt plug and filter were reinstalled and torqued to spec and the new 3/8" torque wrench appears to have worked perfectly.

I've read threads where ya'll have indicated the inner upper fairing and lower do not have to be removed to do this and next time I will not remove the upper. This time, however, I was going by the book as much as possible, so I removed them. That also gave me the chance to thoroughly clean the driving/fog lights and adjusted them a quarter twist. I'll see if I like it that way over the next week. I was also able to trim a little more off the light holes in the lower fairing.

This is the second time I've had the lower fairing off. The first was when I installed the extra lights in February or March of last year. The poll is to guess how many plastic fasteners and or tabs I broke during this first oil change.
