2008 GL1800 MP3 Player

A friend of mine owns a 2008 GL1800 and wants to add an MP3 Player that is compatible with the Navigation System. Has anyone added an MP3 Player to their GL1800 and if so what make and model MP3 player did you intall?

I have a J&M. Works fine but locks up occasionally. There is a DVC knockoff of the J&M that can be purchased out of China on EBay for cheap. Some people have loved them, and others have gotten poor units, like pretty much everything out of China. You pays yer money and you takes yer chances. To the best of my knowledge, these are the only two still available. Oh, and by the way, the probability of the J&M unit coming out of China is about 96%.

ok thanks i'll let him know. he already has 1 that plugs into the connection under the seat but his daughter was trying to help him with the settings and now he says it doesn't work. I've seen these sold on Amazon and eBay

this is what I installed in my 2009. Works great 99% of the time. Once in a great while it will lock up and I have to shut the bike off and restart it. It comes with plug and play for the stock connections under the seat. I mounted it in my trunk. It has a memory card slot to put music on, so all you have to do is remove the card, take it in the house and down load music on it. I have approx. 1000 songs on it and am very happy with it. It took about an hour to get it all mounted, but then I am particular about how it is installed and probably took longer to get everything just the way I wanted it.
