That's a different bike than in your signature/profile - did you just buy it, and if so, did those lights ever work?

I have a lot of buttons on my 2003 that aren't lit, but they aren't designed to be either AFAIK...

AFAIK the only lights are on the headlight adjustment panel (and not all buttons light there either). The GL1800's before 2004 didn't have any handlebar control lights, and the lights under the display and on the radio panel do not light up (probably to reduce reflections).

To replace the lights in the radio head, you need to remove the radio and then take the control panel off of the radio.
The lamps are part number 39111-MCA-671 and can be purchased from CycleMax of Ohio.
Here is the web site listing: https://cyclemax.com/inc/sdetail/gl1800 ... /73/105985
I believe that there are 6 bulbs needed.

Just to confirm the radio on my 2003 DOES light up. When I looked at it in daylight even between cupped hands it looked unlit, but in the completely dark garage, it is "gently illuminated".

Yes ... the only control lights on 2001-03s are 6 bulbs for the radio controls and 4 in the left side control panel. From 2004-17 Honda added the right control panel lights (NAVI models), and lit up both hand grip control panels.

Hi Tamathumper! Where did you find out that pre 04 1800s didn't have any handlebar control lights, and the lights under the display and on the radio panel do not light up. ??? I picked up an 01 last summer and noticed NO radio button lights ... thought they were ALL burned out. Where can I confirm your info? Thanks!

Three posts back I followed up to say my radio buttons did light up, but were so dim as to be undetectable in any amount of daylight. Apologies for the confusion.

Another option is to replace with LEDs....go to https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinf ... l-led/221/ there are a number of LEDs with similar bases, would just need to measure what is currently on the bike and compare to what is available...this option also allow you to pick a color.

For the push button, currently it is a "grain of wheat" incandescent bulb, such as the fog light switch, you can replace easily with a 3mm LED (color of your choice) and a 560 ohm resistor

2001-03s only have left panel lights and radio lamps. To replace the radio lamps, do the following:
- remove front pockets
- remove seat
- remove meter panel
- remove shelter
- remove radio
- remove 4 small screws that hold the button panel in place
- gently pry, lift, and separate the panel from the radio
- replace the 6 bulbs assemblies

The older parts fishe will not show the bulbs, so use a newer parts fishe. You will need 6 of part #3.
