Tried some new LEDs for the trunk Tail/Brake lights

Post by M61A1MECH »

Had a tail light go out on me the other day so I decided to upgrade to LEDs, found theses on Amazon, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07V8 ... UTF8&psc=1
They have a built in flash for the brake circuit.

Here is a pic of before and after, left is new LEDs right is old bulbs.

Here is a video showing both sides with new LEDs in brake light mode.

Quite a difference. I may have to do the same at some time when one of my bulbs burn out.

Did you have to replace the flasher or do anything else for these to work? I have 2002 and have been told I have to replace the flasher unit.

The bike’s flasher is not involved, these lights are only for brake and tail lights, the brake lights are modulated by a flasher unit built into the bulbs by the manufacturer. You only need to worry about the bike’s flasher if you change the turn signals over to LEDs from OEM incandescent.

Thanks. My mistake I was asking about the turn signals. Forgot that the Goldwing signals are are separate lights.
