Tires

Had been using Dunlop Elite 3's - 10 - 12,000 miles

Most recently the newer Dunlop Elite 4's - close to 15k miles

2015 bike I recently purchased (<2000 miles) had Metzler tires. I keep close watch on my tires to ensure I have new ones on before I load it on the back of our coach and go off for the summer (we put 15 - 20k miles/year on the bike). What might I expect with the Metzler's?

A friend of mine used metzlers on his 08 and liked them. He had never an issue. I think he had 3 sets of them with in the 18k mile range. He has a 2018 wing now.

Mileage on tires have so many variables. On my 1500 I used E3 and was close to 20k on miles. Used E4 for several sets and had 25k plus on one set. On my 1800 now I'm using cobra's with good use. So many variables in tire usage. We just like to ride.

I have had similar results as keithg64 with E3S on my 1500, 4 sets all approximately 20k. I sold that bike and now have a 06 1800 that came with new E4S. They now have about 8k on them, like the tires, would have put them on my 1500 if I still had the bike, so only time will tell on mileage on the tires for me!
