Removing Multi Display connector
Mirror trip part # 64256-MCA-000ZA: The top tab on the old part broke off in the little slot it fits into and I am having a bear of a time getting the old clip out. I can't seem to get the 4 pin connector for the multi-display disconnected so I can remove the meter panel cover. It has a retaining clip on it, but I can't seem to get it to release. It needs to be removed so I can get at the broken tab to remove it. Any suggestions?

Re: Removing Multi Display connector
I used a screwdriver to unclip the tab on the connector. After a couple of times of doing that and it being quite the bear, I broke that tab off the connector. It still connects great and a little easier to disconnect.
It's not what you buy, it's what you build.

Re: Removing Multi Display connector
Year is always helpful.
Assuming its a 2001-05, I reach in from the right side with the bars turned and place a small screw driver between the male and female connector on the forward side. I then press the push point forward towards the outer most forward outer shell of the female connector and then gently pull on the harness that is attached to the meter panel.

Re: Removing Multi Display connector
Been a while since I had it off. The mention of the screwdriver trick brought back a memory and I was able to get it off. Thanks for the responses. Then using a pick, I was able to pry out the broken piece of the old tab. Problem solved!
