Bike runs fine! Speedo will go dead then start jumping around F1 light might illuminate. Can happen 3 times in 15 min or one time in a thousand miles. Every now and then when it happens when coming to a stop it will stall (light on only). Today I was able to get a read it appears to be one flash or maybe one long one short?

the indicator lamp is a Fault Indicator = FI
it is NOT a F 1 ( digit 1 )
when that situation happens, come to a stop, put bike in neutral, side Stand down, release throttle.
Watch the FI ( Fault Indicator ) lamp.
IF, a code is present, it will start flashing.
Initial flashes are counts of 10,
Subsequent flashes are counts of 1.
Two long flashes = 20
two short flashes = 22
it will continue to cycle over, and over, and over, until you change something.
Key off, brake applied, shift gears, apply throttle... any of those will stop the flashing.
if a code appears, you need to reference a chart to see what is happening.
the codes are on this forum, and also at this link that I have bookmarked.

Re: 2005 F1 light
You could have a bad connection on your speed sensor or the speed sensor is going bad. It’s connector is in a boot near your right knee when sitting on the bike. The shelter has to be lifted to reach it. It’s harness runs from there down to the underside of the right cylinder bank where the sensor is screwed into the transmission case. Now, with all that being said, this sensor has a power wire that supplies it and it runs through a junction connector under the seat that has been known to have meltdowns and issues. If the power is dropping off from issues in this connector, it could give you the stalling symptom as well. Refer to my post in this thread, the power for this sensor comes from the brown/white tail light power circuit. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=44704&p=271435&hili ... wn#p271435kjkal10bach wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 11:15 am Bike runs fine!
