POGSTICK FRONT END

Post by oilboy1162 »

OK,SO I PICKED UP MY BIKE FROM THE SHOP AFTER HAVING A FULL MAINTENANCE (ALL FLUIDS,TIRES, BRAKES,VALVE CLEARANCE,ECT.) AS WELL AS A TRAXXION FULL MEGA MONTY INSTALL. ABOUT 175 MILES INTO NEW RIDE AND A NOTICE THAT BETWEEN 20-30 MPH I GET A POGO FEEL FROM THE FRONT END.IF ACCELERATING THROUGH,NOT THERE. SEEMS TO DISSAPEAR WITH SPEED, SMOOTH AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. TRAKS GREAT,PLANTS IN THE CORNERS FINE, JUST DONT WANT TO FIND MY BRAND NEW E4 ELITE CUPPING. WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM TECH BUT FIGURED I'D SEE WHAT IF ANY IDEAS COME FROM THE WISE MEN HERE. THANKS

 I know people say we spend too much money on our rides, but I can't hear them when I'm 1000 miles away!

Pogo sticking can be the result of to much fork oil.

There is an odd "pogo" effect on many GL1800s, or at least that's what I'm told, right in the 20-30 mph zone.

I've had my Elite 4 on the front for 16,000 miles, and have more than once felt the pogo between 20-30, and I have no cupping on the front.

I was thinking the rear shock needs some attention but the full Monty and mega Monty come with traxxion rear shock.
It's not what you buy, it's what you build.

FYI to all ... E4s do flat spot, and it takes a good 10-15mins for the flat spot to work its way round.

You seem to be talking about the front "wobble" that takes place, especially on decel.
Pogo sticking means bouncing not wobbling!

No, I'm talking about the pogo sticking, I've never had a wobble.
