need help...no dash lights when key turned to on...
I did something stupid!!!
arguing with missus, trying to park and missed putting down kick stand and bike dropped on left side, not hard, no damage...but...
I stood bike up, stand was slightly jammed against floorboard, so i had to put it on center stand.
kicked down on stand, got it loose, everything worked fine, shift, lights, stand, dashboard...
i parked bike let it sit and went back, tried turning key and green neutral light flickers a couple of times then nothing on dash,
have no power at all, no lights, nothing. even fob wont open trunk or saddlebags???
what should i be looking at first???
sorry for length of this, wanted to let you everything that happened,
dont know if this is right topic to post this, any help is appreciated...thanks

Check your battery voltage with a know good voltmeter. Sounds like the battery went dead.

What is the voltage when the key is turned on?
Are the connections to the battery tight?
Loosen them and re-tighten to make sure.

Have you checked the sidestand switch, and wires to see if they were damaged when you jammed your sidestand?

Did you happen to contact the REV button and maybe jam it? Check the switches on the handle bar controls just in case.

Re: need help...no dash lights when key turned to on...
ill continue checking manana, tired and pissed, thanks for the info and help.
one thing, how do i check or what do i check for with side stand switch? thanks,
will get back tomorrow afternoon...again, thanks...
however, in my fuming stage, i noticed, i dont have any lights obviously as stated, but also battery a Yuasa gyz20l,
its not smooth on the outside, its' sort of wavy, if we exaggerate, like sideway S and that's not normal lol...
its usually smooth, so maybe it is battery but will check anyway, again thanks

The sidestand switch can’t cause all those symptoms. There’s no switch on the handlebars that can kill all that stuff. Check the battery voltage when the key is on and see what it’s doing under load.ex vtxer wrote: ↑Wed Jul 08, 2020 5:47 pm ill continue checking manana, tired and pissed, thanks for the info and help.

Re: need help...no dash lights when key turned to on...
I suspect your battery is the culprit. How old is it? What does the voltage drop to when trying to start? It sounds like it's toast if it's "wavy". It may have been on the edge and finally quit after the fall.

Re: need help...no dash lights when key turned to on...
ok, battery checked and its only registering 3.65, will proceed to get a new one...
i also checked out the side stand, and it's okay, no damage in that area.
so will have to wait a few days since nobody around me stocks the Yuasa, which I like
and have had pretty good luck with them, since my vtx days...
thank you all for your help, will chime in once installed

Re: need help...no dash lights when key turned to on...
ok, bought battery from Chapparal??? got it Friday but didn't have time till tonight, due to work and family commitments.
all good, battery came charged to 12.88...installed it, all good, took a little ride, now ready to bed...
Oh, btw, i reinstalled my battery tender, all wires good, terminals connected well, but the trickler is staying red, not switching to green...
will check further manana...forgot if i checked inline fuse, not sure if that would have anything to do with it, or if tender is just shot...
thanks to all for helping out.

Re: need help...no dash lights when key turned to on...
The battery tender is just a trickle charger, it puts out at most 750mA. It can take hours (or even days) to bring a battery up to full charge, depending on how depleted the battery is.ex vtxer wrote: ↑Mon Jul 20, 2020 10:00 pm ok, bought battery from Chapparal??? got it Friday but didn't have time till tonight, due to work and family commitments.

Re: need help...no dash lights when key turned to on...
I have had two of the "old style" transformer-based Battery Tenders (the larger, heavier ones) die over the years. I have NEVER had any of the newer style, switching power supply units (smaller, lighter, with molded finger holds on the side) die, and I have a LOT of them.

I had this happen once when I tipped mine and it was the tip over switch which was stuck. I tapped it with a screwdriver and everything was roses again.

Re: need help...no dash lights when key turned to on...
Take a wrench or screw driver and physically tighten the wires to the battery, that would be the first priority for me as it solved the same issue a while back. Those connects can get loose over time.
