Some DIYr's may. However, like many DIYr's who will convince themselves its a good idea, if they find that its not, we never hear back.
However, it would probably be hard to find a professional shop that would. No one want to go through the labor intensive engine pull, to find out there are unexpected results. At my shop, and we probably do more ADGs than any other shop in the world, we install the parts Honda parts fishe call for. So for 2001-05s, all get the old style ADG. Be sure to replace both washer at the back of the ADG and both front and rear bearings.

It can be done, but it can be expensive. The crankshaft scissor gear has to be changed as well as the rear cover and the oil pressure regulator for the clutch. Honda changed the regulator and the rear cover to accommodate it and no one knows exactly why, but I wouldn’t do the ADG upgrade without doing that too. The newer cover has a larger hole for the regulator and the regulator is larger to fit it. The first pic is the 01-05 version and the second pic is the 06 and later version. You might get lucky and find the newer version parts on eBay for a lot less than Honda’s price.
