Lighted Antenna

Post by twk1 »

Hello Group,

i am thinking about to add light to my antennas, but i am quite unsure how to do. My idea so far is to add a thin led strip and fix it to the antenna with a transparent heat shrink tube. So far - so good. But my problem is how can i drive the cable invisible through the antenna socket (the mechanism which is for folding the antenna). I have to fold my antennas down frequently (when the bike goes under the cover), so it has to be a stable solution and as mentioned before invisible from outside.
Any ideas, hints, tips, recommandation would be highly appriciated.

Thanks and best regards, thomas

Good luck with your project but adding any weight to the antenna might not be a good thing, they flex enough in the wind without anything else on them, also it might interfere with reception.
