Outdated instrument panel

Post by freedomrunner »

Good afternoon, I believe I already know the answer but hoping someone will surprise me. In 2004, I bought my first Wing and loved everything about it. Ran up to just under 90,000 miles in the first four years. Then I bought a 2008 Wing and loved just about everything on the bike, which made sense as it was basically the same as the 2004. The only thing I was unhappy with was the dashboard. Still the same as I had with the 04 but felt it was a bit aged and hard to see if the lights were on, such as the OD or cruise lights. Then last year, I sold the 08 and I am solidly entrenched in the camp that does not like the new Wing, but I was lucky and found a brand new, 2017 Wing, still in the Honda crate. So I bought it. still love the bike but now that same dashboard is downright antiquated. I still cant see if the lights are lit up and on a sunny day, it is impossible for me to read anything in that tiny display area. So my question is, has anyone heard of any after market shop that has created a upgrade instrument panel that would replace the OEM panel?

Thanks and happy riding
Larry

The video is good but there is not a lot of information on their website as to what cycles the units can be used for, connectivity, PRICE! Very basic stuff!

No.

Some of the problems you're referencing might be related to vision problems - have you seen an eye doc lately?

As far as that Continental digital dash, my suspicion is that's intended to be an OEM install.

Sorry Larry, and know exactly what you are talking about. However, to my knowledge there is no such thing as an aftermarket dash assembly, and switching back to the older dash is really not possibly unless you're willing to dump thousands of dollars to do so. There is also not really such a thing as a "brighter light." Your idiot lights are really LEDs soldered into a circuit panel.
