Superbrightleds.com don't fit

Post by oldwing1100 »

Beware inferior quality led replacement bulbs.
I finally received my H-3 W14 LED bulbs that are supposed to be a direct replacement for H3 halogen bulbs. THEY DO NOT FIT! The base of the bulb did not fit into my 2004 Goldwing driving light fixtures from where I had just removed halogen H3 base bulbs. There is no excuse for this, SuperbrightLEDs.com of USA just passes on inferior Chinese crap without even testing compatibility. Absolute garbage, do not buy from SuperbrightLEDs.com

They don't list an H3 bulb on their page for the Goldwing, did you call them and ask which one they recommended? There are many different sizes, shapes and wattages of LED bulbs, so I usually don't buy unless I see someone has reviewed them positively.

If trying to replace headlamps bulbs on a 5th gen Wings, the bulb size is a H7 bulb for both hi and low beam headlamps.

No not trying to replace HEADLIGHTS
Replacing lower genuine Honda accessory driving light halogen bulbs which take a standard H3 base.
What SuperbirghtLEDs is selling looks like a H3 base but is not made to H3 standards so consequently does not fit into genuine Honda accessory driving lights.

Give a small bit of credit here, I do know what a H3 base is. Yes I know there are many different sizes, shapes and wattages of LED bulbs but I am referring to the H3 base and an H3 base should be a H3 base and not something that looks similar but will not fit in a H3 socket.

Sorry you had a bad experience. Send them back. Many have had a positive experience with that vendor, and they sell literally thousands of different bulbs. If they don't stand behind them, then it would be fair to criticize their customer service.

Well it has been a week since I contacted Superbrightleds.com regarding my problem with the H3 base led bulbs and NO response, I did receive an auto-generated reply saying they would respond within 1-2 business days....
"Just return them" was a response on this thread. Superbrights return policy is I have to pay for shipping and they will not refund original shipping. This would be over a $40 cost to me on a $25 item purchase so I will just take my lumps and not deal with Superbright again. So much for Customer service.
Just to be perfectly clear my problem with the product sold me has to do with quality control or the lack of it. I was sold H3 base bulbs and the do not fit a Honda H3 base receptacle, not just 1 of the bulbs but both of them. If I were to by a 10X1.25 mm bolt to screw into my bike I want a 10X1.25mm bolt because that is an industry standard, and a 10.4 X 1.28mm bolt sold as a 10 X1.25mm bolt doesn't cut it in my books.

I am a retired Goldwing mechanic that was employed by a Honda dealership so I do have a fairly good grasp on what should fit and how it should fit.
Make your own decision on Superbrightleds.com .... I know I have made Mine.

If I remember correctly, my 05 takes the H3 W14 Cool White from Super Bright LEDs, Inc for the Fog Lights. and H7 from Electrical Connection for the Low and High Beams. I love em.
It ain't the destination but the getting there. You are not lost until you run out of gas.

Superbrightleds.com Customer service update.
It's been 3 weeks since I received an email from Superbrightleds.com saying they would respond within 1-2 business days.
Crickets, not a word!
They may have sold millions of LEDs to others but they will never sell another one to me.
