Running/Stop bulbs

Post by WingTraveler4647 »

Is there a list of the bulbs and numbers for a 2008 Goldwing? I can't believe it is not in my owners manual or shop manual. Such a big secret!!!!! I had a stop/running burn and I have searched for hours for a replacement. Thanks in advance if anyone knows.

They are all the same. I believe 3157 is the right number. Easy to pull one out and take it in the store with you.

Of course the fact that Honda used dual filament bulbs even where the bulbs are wired for single function doesn't really help.

I was checking that out! Hate to let a good filament go to waste. Have to see if I can add a jumper wire.

Here ya go:

check your bulbs first as there is some variation of which are wired for brake light only, which are tail light only and which are both.

Instead of modifying the socket I would suggest just buying some new 7443 buls.
You motorcycle is 12 years old. I'd say you got your money's worth out of the bulbs that have failed.

I just bought 6 Pathfinder LED's but the socket will still have to be modified as it is only 2 wire unless I can get a standard socket locally and just replace. That would make all 4 trunkbox lights both running and "flashing red" stop.

The socket itself is fine. No need to get new sockets. The new jumper wires slide into an existing unused slot in the socket and the other end (Posi-tap) splices into the harness feeding the adjacent bulb. Just check which is which ahead of time.

regarding the other board post, the sockets should just quarter turn and come out of the light housing.
