Need to go back a little more

Post by ducktruck »

I have a KURYAKYN RIDER BACKREST on my 05 and it has the places to adjust to 3 settings. I have it all the way back but still need another inch or so. Has anyone come up with a way to get a little more room out of them?

After looking at the 2 different rider backrest kits installation instructions online that kuryjunkin made,(8930, 8931 I didn't know until now they had 2 different kits, one has 3 settings the other looks like 5 settings) if you need more space backwards you will probably have to bend or cut/weld the upright bars?
I've worked on bikes with one or the other and didn't like their system compared to the Utopia and ended up unhooking the bar/pad to test ride the bike to have enough room. I was glad it wasn't my backrest.....

Have you thought about taking the seat back to an upholstery shop and to make the seat back thinner ???

Yes I will either need to have this seat modified or get another one that will sit me back a little more but I also will need to move the backrest back a little. That is what I'm having problems with.
