Broken tabs on rear front fender on a 2013
Gents, Well, I am out there and trying to figure out how to fix the tabs on the rear front fender. I think one of the two nuts have become lost and in turn broke off one of the tabs. I believe the stress on lack of one of the tabs broke the other one. So..... the back front fender is a custom color. Has anybody out there tried fabricating a bracket to accomodate these missing tabs? I am torn about to doing that orrepalcing with new fender part from China....... Anybody got any tricks? Mighty obliged.

Those tabs get broken from being over tightened. The bolts should gave only a snug touch. Not reefed down.
Replace the fender.
Trying to patch the tabs will be a futile exercise. Especially if you have a fender extension on it.
There is no way to build up enough patch to secure a good repair on these tabs.

If you have a mud-flap, that is most likely your cause. Here's what happens. There are 3 rules everyone learns one way or another, when riding a 2-whl 5th gen Wing. They either learn these rule because someone else told them what they are, or their bike falls over, and over time they figure them out be their selves.
Rule#1 ... 5th gen Wings only like riding on pavement. If you do u-turns onto the dirt shoulder, eventually your Wing will fall over. The other thing that happens is that as the front tire drops off the pavement, the mud-flap slams down on the pavement and breaks the back part of the front fender. Everything other then replacing it is a waist of time. I always replace the 4 nut-plates too. Also, be sure to order a new one while Honda is still making it for a product that is no longer made.

Not using the proper shoulder bolts will also cause a problem. Regular not shoulder bolts or too short a shoulder will allow you to pinch the plastic and crack it. I recently had my front half of the front fender off and carefully noted the shoulder bolts on each side. The top and bottom bolts were different and the rubber washer went on the lower bolt which also had a longer shoulder. I bought two more rubber washers and applied them to the upper bolts. I don't know why Honda didn't because the bolts are both going through two pieces of plastic.
It ain't the destination but the getting there. You are not lost until you run out of gas.
